Information for Wales Pet Owners

The Village of Wales has dog tags available for residents starting in mid-December, as required by the state of Wisconsin. You will need to bring proof of their rabies vaccination with you when applying for the dog license. This proof will be provided by your Animal Wellness Center veterinarian after your dog receives their shots.

Cats do not need a license in the Village of Wales.

Wales Pet Limits:

  • No more than 3 dogs per home (exception for puppies under 3 months of age)
  • No limit specified on cats per home (contact your local officials for more information)

Puppies and kittens cannot be vaccinated for rabies until they reach a certain age and size, depending on their breed. As a result, they do not need to provide proof of their vaccinations until they are over 5 months old.

  1. Head northwest on N Elias St toward N Elias St (125 ft)
  2. Turn right at the 1st cross street onto E Main St (0.5 mi)
  3. Turn right to stay on E Main St (0.2 mi)
  4. Continue onto Boettcher Rd (1.5 mi)
  5. Turn right to stay on Boettcher Rd (0.5 mi)
  6. Turn left onto Sunset Dr
  7. Destination will be on the right
